Marine-land-air three-dimensional network of communication lines in Binhai New Area is developed. Ranking as one of the world top 20 huge harbors with deep water, Tianjin Port is the significant sea lane for Midwest; in 2005, its cargo handling capacity achieved 240 million tons, container throughput achieved 4.8 million tons. Tianjin Binhai International Airport is an important airport in China and northern China air freight center. With total customs import and export value of 82 billion Yuan, it is the largest customs in north China.

3. Advantages on industry foundation. Binhai New Area has formed six leading industries: electronic information, petroleum& marine chemical industry, auto& device manufacturing, high quality steel, biotechnology& modern medicine and new energy sources& materials. In 2005, its industrial sales income achieved RMB400 billion with 44% of hi-tech products.

4. Advantages on natural resources. In Binhai New Area, there are 1,214 sq.km. of alkaline land for ecological development and construction. There are rich resources of petroleum, natural gas and subterranean heat, etc. for exploitation and utilization.

5. Advantages on ecology environment. In Binhai New Area, there are large area of wetland nature reserve and plain reservoir with excellent ecological basis.

In the last 10 years, Binhai New Area has deepened the reform, expanded the opening up, forwardly connected with international economy, kept improving investment condition and tried to create the top-ranking investment environment. At present, there are a series of important measures are being implemented actively and a series of important projects are being constructed in Binhai New Area.Tianjin Port 250, 000-ton Deep Water Channel will be completed by the end of the yea; 300,000-ton crude oil dock will be completed in April of next year; Binhai International Airport's reconstruction and extension project will be completed in this year; Beijing-Tianjin inter-city express railway and 2nd part of Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Expressway will be formally opened before Beijing Olympics. Air Bus A320 assembly line project's factory pile foundation has been accomplished; base project for carrier rocket of new generation has been started; megaton ethylene refining integration project and ten million ton refining project are going well; construction of Xiangluowan Business District, starting area of CBD, has been started; Tianjin East Port Free Trade Zone will achieve closed operation covering 4 sq.km.'s in this year.
