Tanggu Marine Hi-Tech Development Area is located at 38°58’ north latitude and 117°38’ east longitude, in the core of Tianjin Binhai New Area. It is 8km from Tianjin Xingang in the east, 45km from Tianjin Urban District in the west, 36km from Tianjin Binhai International Airport and 142km from Beijing in the northwest. The Hi-Tech Development Area is next to Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA) and the living area of Tanggu District. Around this Area, there is Tianjin Free Trade Zone, Lingang Industrial Park, Central Business and Commerce District, Binhai Hi-Tech Industrial Development Area and Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city and other functional zones in Binhai New Area.

The Hi-Tech Development Area is located in the region around the Bohai Bay with a radius of 500km and centring on Tianjin City.
